We all know that grapes are delicious, but have you ever considered how they got their name?

What Are The Ingredients In A Candied Grapes Recipe?

Ingredients include grapes, water, salt, sugar, corn syrup, lemon juice, almond oil, vanilla, and cinnamon.

You may want to substitute some of these if you prefer something different.

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 tablespoons kosher salt
  • 4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 5 drops almond essential oil (optional)
  • Cinnamon sticks (about 1 teaspoon per batch)
  • Candied pecans (if desired)
  • Instructions:
  • Combine the first four ingredients (sugar, water, salt, and sugar) in a saucepan over medium-high heat until it reaches 250°F. Then remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
  • Add the remaining ingredients one at a time while stirring constantly. Once each ingredient has been added, stir well again before adding another one. Continue this process until everything is incorporated into your mixture.
  • Pour into small molds (or ramekins) lined with parchment paper on top of wax paper. Place in the freezer overnight so the mixture hardens more evenly.
  • Take out of molds and let them sit for about 10 minutes before removing the wax paper and placing them on a wire rack. Serve chilled.

How Do You Make Candied Grapes?

You don’t need any special equipment to create it either.

All you need is something to coat them in, like honey, syrup, or chocolate.

If you want to go crazy, you could add other things like nuts or spices too!

If you want to try your hand at making candied grapes, follow these simple steps below:

  • Wash your grapes thoroughly with cold water.
  • Dry each one off so there aren’t any moisture left on it.
  • Inspect each one carefully to remove any blemishes.
  • Take a small bowl and place it near the stovetop. Add two cups of granulated white sugar into the bowl and stir until it dissolves completely.
  • Pour half of the syrup onto a plate. Dip each grape into the syrup and then roll it around back and forth in the syrup so it gets coated evenly.
  • Place each grape onto the syrup-coated plate and let it sit for about five minutes before moving it to another plate. Repeat this process until all of the grapes are dipped in the syrup.
  • Let the grapes dry out overnight.
  • When the grapes are ready, store them in airtight containers until needed.

  • 20-25 Skewers

  • 20-25 grapes washed
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 teaspoons flavored oil
  • Sprinkles for decorating


  • Wash the grapes thoroughly and put them in a sieve. Allow them to slightly drip dry in the strainer.
  • After spreading the jello powder out on a tray, roll the wet grapes in it to coat them. Put the jello in the refrigerator for one hour to set, then serve it cool.
