Gluten Free Meatball Recipe

If you’re looking to make something special for your next family gathering or get together, this recipe will definitely help out!

These easy-to-make meatballs are made with delicious chicken and seasoned with garlic, herbs, and spices.

What Is The Difference Between Glutenfree And Regular Meatballs?

The biggest difference between a traditional meatball recipe and these homemade ones is that they don’t contain wheat flour (gluten).

This means that if you have celiac disease, or just prefer not to eat certain foods containing gluten, then these recipes won’t work for you.

These gluten-free meatballs still taste great though – we guarantee it!

They’ve been tested in our kitchens, so rest assured that our homemade version of classic Italian food is safe for everyone who wants to enjoy their favorite dishes without worrying about cross contamination.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (you can use lowfat, but try to find whole milk)
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted on medium heat
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 tablespoon parsley flakes
  • 1 teaspoon salt (salt helps season the meatballs)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper (black pepper adds flavor)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red chile peppers (if desired)
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme leaves

Preparation time

Start by preheating oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Next, combine all ingredients into a bowl until well mixed, making sure there are no lumps left.

Now roll each portion of mixture into a ball shape and place them onto an ungreased baking sheet.

After placing the balls on the baking sheet, spray some cooking oil over them, leaving enough space between each one so as to avoid sticking together.

Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes, turning once halfway through the process. After 15 minutes, remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before serving.

Serving suggestions

Serve these tasty meatballs on top of pasta, rice, noodles, mashed potatoes, polenta, bread, pizza crust, etc., depending on what type of meal you plan to serve them on.

Why Would Someone Want To Make Glutenfree Meatballs?

Meatballs should be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of their dietary needs or preferences.

Gluten-intolerant people often avoid food containing wheat because it contains a protein called gluten which damages the digestive system over time.

Meatballs have been around since ancient times as an easy way to use up leftovers from other dishes.

They’ve also become popular in recent years due to the rise in celiac disease, a condition caused by the body not being able to properly absorb nutrients when they eat foods containing gluten.

Gluten-free meatballs are great if you need to cut down on carbohydrates or simply don’t like eating them at all.

Many companies offer different types of gluten-free breads and pastas for those who are trying to find healthier alternatives.

However, some people still prefer to avoid these products altogether, so it’s important to know how to cook without gluten yourself.

What Kind Of Meat Can Be Used To Make Glutenfree Meatballs?

You can use almost any type of ground beef in these tasty little balls, but we recommend using the leanest cuts possible so they don’t have too much fat content.

You should also look for ground meats without added preservatives like sodium nitrite because it has been linked to cancer.

Ground turkey may seem like a good choice since it doesn’t contain as many calories as other types of ground meat, but if you’ve never had ground turkey before, try it out first.

It might take some time getting used to how different it tastes than most ground meats.

There are lots of options available when it comes to making meatballs.

If you’d rather buy them pre-made instead of making them yourself, check out our list of the best brands to choose from online.

How Do You Make Glutenfree Meatballs?

This super simple recipe calls for ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, parsley, celery salt, thyme, basil, and Italian seasoning.

You may also add other seasonings like oregano if you prefer.

To start the process, cook up the onions and brown them on medium heat until they become translucent.

Then transfer the onions into a separate bowl and set aside.

Next, drain the excess fat from the pan by using a paper towel to blot off as much grease as possible.

Once all of the grease has been removed, let the pan cool down before adding in the remaining ingredients.

You can use an electric mixer to combine everything together while it’s still warm, but I recommend shaking things up instead.

After mixing the first half of the ingredients together, take the mixture and form small balls with about 1/4 cup each (or less).

Place the meatballs onto a greased baking tray and bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes.

Once the meatballs have finished cooking, remove them from the oven and place them back on the same pan where you cooked them.

Let them sit on the stove top for another 5 minutes so that the juices inside the meatballs can redistribute themselves throughout the entire ball.

Take care not to overcrowd the pan because there needs to be enough space between the meatballs so that they don’t stick together when being fried.

When frying the meatballs, pour 1/3 of vegetable oil onto the pan and wait for it to reach 375 degrees Fahrenheit before placing the meatballs in.

Fry the meatballs for 3 minutes per side, ensuring that the bottoms turn golden brown before flipping over.

Let the meatballs rest for 10 minutes after removing them from the pan.

If you want to serve these tasty treats immediately, feel free to skip the resting period.

What Are Some Common Ingredients In A Glutenfree Meatball Recipe?

You can find many different recipes online for making homemade glutenfree meatballs.

But when it comes down to the actual process of how they’re created, there aren’t really too many differences between them.

You will need to start by cooking ground beef along with other basic kitchen items like onions, carrots, celery, etc.

Once everything has been cooked through, add your seasoning mix (which may include salt, pepper, paprika, cayenne, onion powder, garlic powder, etc.) and then form the mixture into balls.

The rest of the steps are pretty self explanatory so I won’t go over them here but if you have any questions about what you should be doing let me know in the comments below!

What Are Some Tips For Making Glutenfree Meatballs?

When it comes to making meatballs at home, there can be many different recipes available to use as the base of these tasty treats.

However, if you have decided to go with homemade glutenfree meatballs, then you should follow certain guidelines so that they turn out just like their counterparts.

  • Make sure to choose lean ground meats such as turkey or chicken instead of fatty beefs.
  • Use organic eggs over regular ones because they tend to produce more flavorful results.
  • Choose fresh herbs and spices instead of dried powders.
  • Don’t skip on adding salt and pepper to taste since meatballs need seasoning to keep them from being bland.
  • Add extra flavor by sautéing onions and mushrooms along with the other veggies used in the mixture.
  • Keep an eye on the meatballs while cooking so they don’t burn too quickly.

How Do You Know When Glutenfree Meatballs Are Done Cooking?

You can tell if they’ve cooked through by using a fork.

You should be able to easily pierce the center of each one with your finger without it being too mushy.

If you find yourself pushing the tines in deeper than necessary, then these aren’t fully cooked yet.

They may also look like they have more browning on them than others but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

The color on top depends on what type of pan you cook them in.

A nonstick skillet will create less smoke and therefore won’t require as much oil.

Since there are no wheat flour components in these gluten free meatballs, they don’t need to be baked before serving.

They’ll still hold up well in an oven at high heat so that they finish cooking properly while keeping their shape intact.

It’s always best to use fresh ingredients whenever possible when preparing food.

That way, you can ensure that the dish tastes its absolute best.

However, sometimes we just don’t have access to all of our favorite foods.

Luckily, there are plenty of substitutes available online.

For example, you could substitute regular ground beef with lean ground pork instead.

The same goes for substituting regular bread crumbs for almond meal.

Almond meal is often used in baking due to its neutral flavor which allows it to work well with many different types of recipes.

What Are Some Common Ways To Serve Glutenfree Meatballs?

The best way to enjoy these tasty little morsels is in a variety of dishes.

They can be served as appetizers at parties by themselves or mixed into pasta sauce.

You could also put them on top of pizza if you want to add another layer of flavor without the extra grease.

You don’t have to stick to just using them in one dish either.

If you like making things from scratch, it’s easy enough to create different sauces with these little guys.

For example, you could try putting them in a tomato sauce or even use them as an ingredient in chili or soup.

The possibilities aren’t really limited here because they taste great all on their own too.
