What Are The Ingredients In A Steakhouse Burger?

The most important ingredient when making a steakhouse burger is the meat.

The type of beef you use will determine how juicy and flavorful your burgers will be.

If you’re not sure which kind to get, go with rib eye or filet mignon because they tend to have more flavor than other cuts.

Many restaurants also add onion, garlic, and pepper flakes to their hamburgers, but it isn’t necessary if you don’t want them.

You can always skip these items if you prefer.

Next on our list are the toppings.

A good steakhouse burger should have cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle slices, onions, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and celery salt.

These are all standard toppings found at many fast food places, so it shouldn’t surprise you that they are included in this menu item as well.

Finally, we come to the sauce.

This could be something like blueberry jam, BBQ sauce, mushroom gravy, sweet chili sauce, or anything else your heart desires.

Just remember that sauces should complement rather than overpower the taste of your burger.

They should enhance the flavors instead of masking them.

If you aren’t familiar with what makes up a steakhouse burger, here is an example from one popular chain restaurant:

This is just one of the many kinds of steakhouses available today.

Many people choose to eat out during lunch hours, especially since it helps save money.

So, let us take a look at some recipes and see exactly how to make a steakhouse burger…

How Do You Make A Steakhouse Burger?

The basic premise of this recipe is that we will be using some ground beef and some buns.

We’ll also need lettuce, tomato, cheese, pickles, onion, ketchup, mustard, mayo, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce.

Step 1: Choosing your meat

You can use either regular or lean ground beef for this recipe.

If you want to go with lean ground beef, please read our guide on how to choose the right type of meat for burgers before buying it.

Step 2: Mixing up your seasonings

In this step, you will mix all the different spices together.

You should try to keep them as close to their original ratios as possible.

The only thing you have to change here is the amount of garlic powder.

Make sure not to overdo it because too much garlic can cause stomach upset.

Step 3: Preparing your bun

If you don’t like sesame seeds, feel free to leave them out from now on.

But if you do love them, then by all means add more!

Step 4: Add in your toppings

Now comes the fun part where we get creative! We’ve already included a lot of stuff in the list above but there are still plenty of other options.

Here are some ideas:

  • Chopped jalapeño peppers
  • Pickled onions
  • Carrots
  • Celery
  • Garnishes such as mushrooms, green olives, etc.
  • Onion rings
  • Toppings for each individual slice of bread
  • Sliced avocado
  • A dash of hot sauce (optional)

Step 5: Build your burger

Get ready to build your burger.

This is probably one of the most exciting parts about making a homemade meal! Start off by building the bottom layer first.

Then place some sliced tomatoes, followed by shredded iceberg lettuce, and then spread your favorite condiments on top.

Finally, start layering your hamburger patty until you reach the bun.

To finish things off, just squeeze some extra lemon juice onto your burger and enjoy!

What Is The Best Way To Cook A Steakhouse Burger?

The secret to cooking a good steakhouse burger starts with choosing your ingredients.

The first step in making a steakhouse burger is selecting a high-quality beef patty and then using an ingredient like pepper jack cheese or bacon to add flavor.

Once you have selected your ingredients, it’s time to prep them so they are ready to be cooked properly.

To achieve this goal, you will need a few basic kitchen tools such as a knife and cutting board.

You may also want to invest in some grill equipment if you plan on grilling your burgers outdoors.

This includes things like a grill pan and tongs so you can easily move the patties from the hot coals of the grill to the cooler side where they won’t burn up too quickly.

After you prep all your ingredients, it’s time to put everything together.

Use one of these recipes below to create a perfect steakhouse burger!

Make a Classic Steakhouse Burger Recipe

This classic steakhouse burger recipe is easy enough to follow even without a recipe booklet.

All you need to get started is two pieces of meat (one regular hamburger patty and one thin burger), a slice of American cheese, lettuce, tomato slices, ketchup, mustard, pickle chips, onion rings, and salt and pepper.

Start by putting the two pieces of meat onto separate plates.

Next, lay down a piece of paper towel over each plate.

Now, place 1/4 cup of shredded American cheese inside both patties.

Add a small amount of salt and pepper to each patty, followed by a single layer of sliced tomatoes on top.

Finally, cover the bottom half of each burger with a slice of cheese before adding another layer of tomatoes on top.

Finish off the burgers by placing a few more slices of tomatoes on top of each.

Now, heat up your grill until it reaches medium-high temperature.

Once the grill has reached its ideal temperature, carefully flip the burgers and leave them alone for five minutes.

After 5 minutes, take the burgers out and let them rest for 2 minutes.

Serve the steaks immediately after removing them from the grill.

If you don’t eat them right away, they will lose their juiciness and become dry.

How Do You Know When A Steakhouse Burger Is Done?

The key to a good steakhouse burger is in its preparation.

Most restaurants use USDA Prime beef as their base for these burgers.

This type of meat has a higher percentage of intramuscular fat (marbling) than other cuts and therefore is considered more tender.

To achieve a perfect medium-rare doneness, it’s important to sear the patty on both sides until browning occurs on each side before placing it onto your grill or pan.

Sear it like this: Place the steaks directly over high heat.

Sear them on one side until they develop an even golden crust.

Then rotate them 90 degrees so that they have a chance to sear evenly on the second side.

Flip them again and continue to let them cook for another minute or two on either side, depending upon how rare you want your steak.

Once seared on all sides, remove from the heat and place the cooked patties on a cutting board to rest for at least five minutes before serving.

If you need to hold the burger longer than that, wrap it tightly with plastic wrap and store it in the fridge for up to 3 hours.

If you’re not sure about what temperature to set your oven to, check out our guide to grilling and broiling temperatures to find out which foods will reach different internal temperatures based on how long they’ve been sitting on the grill.

What Are Some Common Mistakes People Make When Cooking A Steakhouse Burger?

There is no need to worry if your steak house burger falls apart or gets soggy in the middle.

The secret lies in how you cook it.

Let’s look at what happens during the process of cooking a steakhouse burger:

The first step involves preheating the grill pan over medium heat and letting the pan get hot enough so that it can sear the meat without burning it.

This also helps prevent the burgers from sticking to the griddle.

Next, season the steaks with salt and pepper before placing them on the hot grill pan.

When searing, try not to move the meat too much or else they will fall apart.

Once the steaks have been seared on both sides, place them on a plate covered by foil to keep them warm while you prep the toppings.

You want to leave enough time between each stage of preparation because all ingredients must be mixed together and placed on top of the burger.

If you rush through this process, then the toppings may end up falling off the hamburger patty.

The last step includes flipping the burger back onto the grill pan and finishing the cooking process until an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit (F) has been reached.

If you are going to eat these burgers immediately after cooking, then there is no need to wait to flip the burger.

However, if you plan on eating it later, then it is important to let it rest for a few minutes before serving it to allow the juices inside of the burger to redistribute themselves evenly throughout the entire patty.

What Are Some Tips For Making A Perfect Steakhouse Burger?

A steakhouse burger is one of the most versatile types of burgers you will find on the market today.

There are many different styles and variations to choose from.

The main difference between a typical hamburger or a traditional steakhouse burger is in the way it’s cooked.

Steakhouses tend to cook their meat medium-rare while hamburgers usually get well done.

The texture of the meat also differs as well with the former being more tender than the latter.

There are a lot of things that can go wrong if you don’t follow proper instructions when preparing a steakhouse burger.

If you want to make sure that this doesn’t happen to you, then here are some general guidelines you should keep in mind when cooking them at home.

What Are Some Of Your Favorite Steakhouse Burger Recipes?

I love to cook and eat food! I have been doing it since high school when my mom taught me how to make the best macaroni salad.

My husband loves steak so we usually go out to restaurants like Ruth’s Chris Steak House or Applebee’s whenever he wants to treat himself.

I don’t think there was ever a time where steakhouses didn’t exist in America.

The first one opened its doors back in 1872!

Today, there are over 600 locations scattered across the U.S., but their menu items change from location to location.

You can find them on every continent except Antarctica!

They serve everything from appetizers, salads, entrees, desserts, and even more drinks than you would expect at an ordinary restaurant.

We went with our son to Ruth’s Chris Steak house last night and had an amazing meal.

We started off with the Black Angus Prime T-bone.

This cut comes from cattle raised on grass and corn fed to give it a rich flavor.

It has a nice marbling throughout which gives it tenderness and juiciness.

After this came the Kobe Beef short rib.

If you aren’t familiar with beef cuts, a short rib means the meat is taken from between two bones.

This cut is very popular because it produces a lot of meat and is easy to prepare.

There were plenty of sauces available and they paired these dishes perfectly together.

Next up, we ordered the filet mignon.

Filet mignon comes from the loin section of the cow.

It is considered one of the most expensive cuts of meat and is known for being extremely juicy and flavorful.

Since filets come from the same area as ribs, they also tend to be quite fatty.

That said, the chef cooked it really well and it tasted just right.

Our next dish was the lobster tail.

Lobster tails are pretty small but they pack a big punch! Not only do they taste good, but they are full of nutrients including protein, calcium, iron, zinc, vitamin B12, and omega 3 fatty acids.

After dessert, we split a chocolate lava cake.

Chocolate cake is always a winner for me.

But this one was especially memorable because it was served with strawberry sauce and whipped cream.

One bite into that frosty goodness made us forget about the rest of the world around us!

Now let’s talk about my personal favorites…

What Is Your Alltime Favorite Steakhouse Burger?

The steakhouse burger is one of my most popular burger recipes on this site.

I like it because it’s very easy to make and can be customized with just about anything.

I love making these burgers because they taste good enough to eat plain, but add cheese or bacon and they become something special!

This burger has been featured multiple times on different websites including Food Network, The Daily Meal, TasteSpotting, and more.

It may seem odd to include bacon as part of a steakhouse burger, but it adds an extra layer of flavor and texture that makes the whole thing even better!

You don’t need much of either ingredient, so feel free to use whatever fits into your budget.

Also, if you want to save money, try using a leaner cut of meat such as ground round instead of top sirloin (you will still get plenty of flavor).

Here’s what we used when we made our own version:

  • 1 pound beef top sirloin roast
  • 4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 slices American cheese
  • 5 slices thick-cut smoked bacon
  • 10 ounces sharp cheddar cheese
  • 6 hamburger buns

Here’s how we made them:

If you could have any steakhouse burger in the world

A steakhouse burger is a classic burger recipe that is simple, yet delicious.

If you are looking to impress someone with this meal, or just want something tasty and easy to cook, then this is the perfect burger recipe.

The burgers are made from ground beef, as well as onion and cheese which make them extra rich and hearty.

The secret ingredient of course is the sauce – this gives the burgers their signature taste, and the meat juices soak into the bread making it moist and tender.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (500g) lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
  • ¼ cup (40g) mayonnaise
  • ½ small white onion, finely diced
  • 1 slice American Cheese (or other medium Cheddar), cut into chunks
  • 1 hamburger bun (optional)
  • Toppings such as lettuce, tomato, pickles, etc.

How to Make Steak House Burgers

First of all, preheat an indoor grill pan over high heat until very hot.

Add the oil and let it get nice and shiny before adding the onions and letting them sizzle away for about 3 minutes.

Once they are golden brown on one side, flip them over and add the salt and pepper, followed by the meat.

Cook the meat for 2-3 minutes per side until cooked through.

Remove the meat from the pan onto a clean cutting board and allow it to rest while you prepare the sauces.

In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, Tabasco and hot sauce.

Whisk together until combined.

Set aside.

In another bowl, whisk the mayo and Worcestershire sauce together.

Season with salt and pepper and set aside.

(Optional step): Grill up some buns if desired! Place them on the griddle and toast them until lightly charred on both sides.

While the buns are cooking, place the sliced cheese on top of each burger.

When the cheeses start melting, remove the buns from the pan and cover the bottom half with the melted cheese.

Top the burger with the grilled onions and serve immediately.

What would it be?

The first time I heard of a steakhouse burger was at my local diner where they served them as part of their breakfast menu.

I had never eaten one before and had no idea what to expect when I ordered one.

When the waitress brought me my order she said “This isn’t your regular burger, it has more meat than your normal burger does!”

That statement made me curious enough to try it out myself so I asked her how much extra beef did she put on this burger.

She told me there were two patties instead of just one, but to not worry about it because it wasn’t really noticeable.

She then went over all the ingredients with me, which included onions, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, mayo, ketchup, mustard, and cheese and explained how they used each ingredient to make the best burger possible.

After eating several steakhouses burgers like these, I knew exactly why the waitresses at those restaurants go through the trouble to explain everything to customers.

The fact that they use all fresh vegetables and herbs from scratch makes the meal taste even better because the food doesn’t contain preservatives or other chemicals.

A steakhouse burger recipe is a perfect dish for a special occasion such as Valentine’s Day, Christmas Eve, Mother’s day, Father’s day, birthdays, anniversaries, and many others.

What you need to know about making a steakhouse burger

Before trying to cook up your own steakhouse burger, here are some important tips to keep in mind.

1. Buy quality meat and high-quality ingredients.

Quality meat will give your steakhouse burger an incredible flavor.

You can buy ground brisket, chuck roast, rib eye steak, ribeye steak, top sirloin steak, bottom round steak, and tri tip steak online.

If you don’t want to do this yourself, ask your butcher if he/she has any cuts left over after preparing another customer’s steakhouse burger.

They might be willing to sell you some meat to create your own masterpiece.

These meats must be kept cold until cooking time.

This way, the meat won’t dry out and become tough during the cooking process.

Ingredients should also be chosen carefully.

Steakhouse burgers usually include thick cut fries (or chips), pickles, onion slices, green pepper slices, tomato slices, lettuce leaves, tomato ketchup, mustard, and white American cheese.

These items are often found in supermarkets across the country.

In addition, you should purchase a good grill pan for searing the meat.

Many people choose cast iron pans because they heat evenly and quickly.

Make sure you clean your pan well with soap and water after every use and oil it lightly before using it again.

Don’t forget to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before handling raw meat.

How to cook steakhouse hamburger recipes

Here is the basic step by step recipe for making a steakhouse burger:

Step 1: Place your choice of meat onto a medium hot grill pan.

Grill it until cooked completely on both sides.

Step 2: Remove the cooked meat from the grill pan and let it cool down.

Once cooled, slice the meat into small pieces.

Step 3: Mix together the chopped meat, breadcrumbs, eggs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, parsley, milk, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper in a bowl.

Shape mixture into four equal sized patty shapes on a flat surface.

Step 4: Cook hamburgers directly on a medium hot grill pan.

Sear them for three minutes per side.

Step 5: Let the burgers rest for five minutes before serving.

Step 6: Serve the grilled burgers with onion rings, coleslaw, potato salad, french fries, or your favorite toppings.

How long does it take to prepare a steak house burger?

It takes approximately 30 minutes to complete the entire preparation process including cooking the meat, mixing the ingredients, shaping the burger patties, and grilling the finished product.

Depending on the size of your grill pan, the total cooking time may vary.

Beef

The most common type of beef used in the United States is called “top round” or “bottom sirloin” – which are both cut from the bottom section of the cow and contain about 20% fat content.

This makes them very tender but also quite lean.

The top round has much more flavor than the bottom sirloin so you may want to opt for this if you have access to it.

You can purchase it either fresh (which will be pink) or frozen (which will be red).

If you don’t know how to cook it, we suggest purchasing some tips on our website as well as learning how to grill meat properly.

If you prefer ground beef, try using chuck roast instead of top sirloin.

Chuck roast contains less fat and thus tends to be juicier when cooked.

When buying ground beef, make sure to choose organic products because they tend to contain less antibiotics.

You should use grass-fed cows whenever possible since their high levels of omega 3 fatty acids help with heart health.

However, grass fed doesn’t necessarily mean free range or organic.

In fact, there isn’t really a way to tell whether your hamburger came from an animal who was actually allowed to roam freely.

Instead, look for the USDA Organic label, which means that no artificial ingredients were added during production.

Another option is to purchase pasture raised meats.

These animals graze outdoors all day long, and therefore produce healthier meat.

They aren’t given hormones or antibiotics just like conventional livestock do, and their diet consists mostly of natural vegetation.

As such, their meat is extremely nutritious and healthy.

There’s even evidence that eating pasture raised meat can reduce cancer risk by 30%.

However, not all pastured meat is created equal.

Some ranchers feed their cattle grain while others let them eat wild plants.

So check out the labels carefully before making your purchases.

We recommend purchasing at least half pound per person depending on your appetite.

For instance, if you plan on having four people over, you should buy 2 pounds of beef for each one.

That will give you enough to share between everyone later on.

When cooking, we always recommend searing it first to get rid of excess moisture and then finishing it off in the oven at low temperature to keep it juicy and flavorful.

Now that you have everything prepared, here’s how to make a steakhouse burger!

  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 3 pounds ground beef
