  • 150 G Still Spirits Distiller’s Nutrient Light Spirits
  • 1 x Sachet Still Spirits Distiller’s Yeast Vodka 20g
  • 6 KG Sugar

Instructions

  • Pour 21 L (5.5 US Gal) of water into your thoroughly cleaned and sanitized fermenter at a temperature of about 30 C (86 F).
  • Stir to dissolve 6 KG (13 lb) of sugar or 6.6 KG of dextrose. Approximately 25 L (6.6 US Gallons) of sugar solution are now prepared for fermentation.
  • Take your distiller’s nutrition and give it a good shake. Measure out 150 G (5.3 oz) for up to 15% ABV, or see to the directions on the Distiller’s Nutrient – For other possibilities for measuring units, refer to the Light Spirits page in the Distiller’s Range guide.
  • Take your measured-out Distiller’s Nutrient and your Distiller’s Yeast, and add them both right away to the fermentation vessel. Stir well to dissolve. Fit your lid and airlock now (half filled with previously boiled water).
  • For best results and quality, let the fermentation process run between 20–32°C (68–90°F). If you’d want to improve the quality of your alcohol, you may also add Still Spirits Turbo Carbon to help remove contaminants created by the yeast during fermentation.
  • The fermentation process is over when your airlocks cease bubbling. If the temperature has been at least 20°C (68°F) throughout, this should happen in around 7 days. The wash should taste dry and not at all sweet if you sample it at this point.
  • Now that the leftover sediments and yeast have a chance to “settle out,” you should let your wash stand for a couple of days. Here, Still Spirits Turbo Clear can help hasten the process of clarity.
  • You can now distill your wash to create spirit. The sediment should be left behind as you siphon the wash into your still. For your first distillation, we advise choosing a column still like the Turbo 500 with Condenser Column for the highest quality spirits.
