Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter cut into pieces
  • 1 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet

Instructions

  • In a small bowl or measuring cup, combine the butter and milk and microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds, or until the butter is melted.
  • Set aside after whisking in the vanilla. In a large mixing bowl, whisk the eggs until they are fluffy. Stir in the milk mixture to combine.
  • Mix in the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until just combined (small lumps are ok). Allow for a five-minute rest.
  • Preheat your waffle iron while the batter rests. Stir in the chocolate chips, then pour the batter onto a hot waffle maker and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions.
