Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 8 tablespoons cubed butter
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  • Turn the oven on to 425 °F.
  • Combine the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Mixture must be cut with butter until it resembles cornmeal.
  • Create a well in the flour mixture, then pour milk slowly into it. Use your fingers to knead the dough and add milk as needed. On a surface that has been lightly dusted with flour, roll out the dough to the desired thickness. Use a little biscuit cutter to cut.
  • Place biscuits in skillet with butter on bottom. 12 minutes in the oven, or until golden brown.
