Blackberry Crumble

Because frozen blackberries are generally available all year, blackberry crumble can be made at any time of year. You can also buy them frozen or in tins.

Ingredients

  • 500 g blackberries freshly picked
  • 200 g flour plain
  • 85 g butter
  • 55 g sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  • Fill a baking dish halfway with washed blackberries.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mash the butter into the flour until it resembles breadcrumbs.
  • Add the sugar and mix well.
  • Crumble the crumble on top of the blackberries.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until light brown.
  • Serve with custard, whipped cream, or ice cream.
