Ingredients

  • 5 pounds yellow potatoes peeled
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ¼ cup cream cheese
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • 1 tablespoon sour cream
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Put the potatoes in a big pot, add salted water, and bring to a boil. Simmer for about 20 minutes on medium-low heat, until fork-tender; drain and transfer to a big bowl.
  • Beat potatoes with an electric mixer while adding butter and cream cheese until butter is almost melted. After adding the milk and sour cream, whip the mixture until smooth. Add salt and black pepper to taste.
