- ½ cup white sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 1 ¼ cup all purpose flour
- ½ cup unsalted butter melted and cooled in the fridge
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup chocolate chips semisweet
Melt your butter in the microwave, then place it in the fridge to cool. Allow it to cool for about 10-15 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients and stir well with a large spoon.
Mix in the vanilla and butter (make sure it has cooled in the fridge or the cookies will turn out way too thin).
Mix in the egg for two minutes, or until well combined, using a hand mixer. Avoid over-mixing.
Using a large spoon, stir in the chocolate chips.
Measure out your dough with a medium cookie scoop (about 12 tablespoons).
Roll into tall, cylindrical balls rather than round ones. They will bake into circles as they bake.
Keep in mind that the cookies will spread a little, so leave some space when placing the dough on the baking sheet.
Bake at 350°F for 14 to 16 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
