Equipment

  • 1 Pot

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted high quality butter
  • 24 ounces frozen corn kernels
  • 1 cup heavy cream (room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons white granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon lawrys seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic (finely minced)
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese (grated)
  • Fresh thyme (finely minced)

Instructions

  • Set the oven to 400 degrees. Using butter, grease an 8x8 shallow casserole dish. Melt butter in a sizable pot over medium heat. In the large saucepan, add corn, heavy cream, sugar, salt, Lawry's seasoning, pepper, and garlic.
  • Mix the 3 tablespoons of flour and milk in a small bowl. Pour into the mixture of corn.
The corn mixture should start to thicken after 5 to 10 minutes of simmering. While there should still be some liquid present, the mixture should have a thick, creamy consistency.
  • Corn should be placed in the prepared baking dish. On top, grate some parmesan cheese.
When the creamed corn is thoroughly melted and bubbling, place it in the preheated oven and bake for roughly 10 minutes.
  • Serve heated with fresh thyme leaves chopped on top.
