  • 1 lb elbow pasta
  • 4 oz butter
  • 4.2 oz flour
  • 16 fl oz milk
  • 8 fl oz heavy cream
  • 16 oz shredded sharp cheddar
  • 8 oz shredded gouda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika

Instructions

  • Prep. Set the oven's temperature to 350°F (180°C) or gas mark 4. A 9 in. by 13 in. (23 cm. by 33 cm.) baking dish should be butter-greased and left aside.
  • Make pasta. Large saucepan of salted water should be brought to a roaring boil. Noodles should only be al dente when added and cooked. To prevent sticking, drain the pasta and mix in 2 tablespoons of melted butter.
  • Blend cheese. Combine the shredded cheddar and gouda while the pasta is cooking. 1 1/2 cups for the inside layer, 3 cups for the sauce, and 1 1/2 cups for the topping.
