Ingredients

  • 4 slices rye bread
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 little gem lettuce - washed
  • 2 vine tomatoes - washed and sliced
  • 8 slices pastrami - thin slices
  • 4 slices emmental cheese

Instructions

  • To create a wonderful mustard mayonnaise spread, thoroughly blend the mustard and mayonnaise.
  • All of the rye bread slices should have the mustard mayo spread on one side. For each slice, use about a fourth of the mixture.
  • On the bread board, arrange two slices of the rye bread in the following order: Emmental cheese, pastrami, more cheese, sliced vine tomatoes, and lettuce. If using, season with a dash of black pepper and sea salt.
  • The other piece of rye bread with mustard mayonnaise spread should be placed on top and pressed down. Cut in half, then devour!
