Ingredients

  • 1/2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • oil for

For the sauce

  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce reduced sodium if possible
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons onions

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine the eggs, salt, and pepper. To blend, stir.
  • Put the flour and 1/2 cup of cornstarch on a plate or in a shallow basin. To blend, stir.
  • Each piece of chicken should be dipped into the egg mixture and then the flour. With all of the chicken, repeat the procedure.
  • To 350 degrees Fahrenheit, heat 3 inches of oil in a deep skillet.
  • 7-8 chicken pieces should be added to the pan. Cook for 5 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. With the remaining chicken, repeat the procedure.
  • Put paper towels down to dry the chicken.
  • Honey, soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch should all be combined in a bowl while the chicken is cooking.
  • In a large pan, warm the teaspoon of oil over medium heat. Cook the garlic for 30 seconds after adding it. Bring to a simmer after adding the honey sauce mixture. 3 to 4 minutes of cooking, or until barely thickened.
  • Then, add the sauce-coated crispy chicken to the pan and stir to combine. Serve after adding sesame seeds and green onions.
