Equipment

  • 1 Waffle iron

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (white / brown / coconut sugar)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, large
  • ¾ cup milk (whole or skim)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled to lukewarm
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In accordance with the manufacturer's directions, preheat your waffle maker. In a small bowl, combine all the dry ingredients.
  • The flour mixture should only be blended after being stirred into the bigger bowl containing the wet components (DO NOT OVER MIX). Start with 34 cup milk and add a bit more, if necessary, to make the batter thick yet pourable.
  • Waffle iron should be greased before use. Use around 14 cup batter per waffle. Cook as directed by the manufacturer. (Each waffle takes 5 to 6 minutes).
