Servings: 2 Jars
- 1 cup of distilled white vinegar
- ¼ cup of water
- ½ teaspoon of pure cane sugar
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 4 cups of filtered tap water
- ½ teaspoon of yeast nutrient solution available online
- ½ package of dry yeast
In order to start off, add 1 cup of distilled white vinegar to a bowl.
Add ¼ cup of water and ½ teaspoon of salt.
Mix well until everything is dissolved completely.
Now, pour 3 cups of filtered tap water into 2 separate containers and mix both together.
Make sure that the amount of water added does not exceed 4 cups.
If it exceeds 4 cups, it might affect the fermentation process.
Add ½ teaspoon of yeast nutrient solution to each of the 2 containers containing 4 cups of water.
Now, sprinkle half of each packet of yeast on top of each jar.
Let sit for 15 minutes before adding the remaining half of each packet.
Once the yeast starts growing, wait for 24 hours before starting the next step of fermenting the mixture.
To do that, put the jars in a warm area where they will stay between 60°F and 70°F while allowing air circulation around them.
After 24 hours, check whether the yeast started to grow.
When it appears, it indicates that the fermentation process is complete.
At this point, remove the lid and allow the content to settle down for 10 minutes.
Then, transfer the contents of each jar into large glass mason jars and cap tightly.
