Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup lard or shortening
  • 1 cup plain yellow cornmeal not self-rising
  • 1 cup plain uncooked oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup plain flour not self-rising
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries

Instructions

  • Heat shortening and peanut butter together in the microwave. Mix cornmeal, oats, flour, and dried fruit together in a large bowl. If more flour or cornmeal is required to achieve a crumbly texture, do so.
  • Let the mixture cool and set.
  • Scoop into 3" balls and roll them.
  • Fill your dish to the brim and keep the extra suet balls in a closed jar at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
  • Enjoy your new bird or flock!
