Two tablespoons of olive oil, lime juice and zest, cumin, chili powder, minced garlic, honey, salt, pepper, and cilantro are all combined in a mixing bowl. In a food processor, you can also pulse until everything is incorporated.
In a bowl or shallow dish, combine the chicken thighs with the marinade. Chicken should be refrigerated for 30 to 60 minutes to marinate.
When the chicken has finished marinating, remove it from the refrigerator and allow it to remain at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes.
Set your oven's temperature to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a big oven-safe skillet, heat the last tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. With the skin side down, sear the chicken for 5–6 minutes, or until golden brown.
