Ingredients

  • ¼ cup butter
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 5 cups milk
  • 1 pound lump crabmeat
  • salt and pepper
  • paprika

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Once melted, whisk in the flour.
  • Cook for 3 minutes while constantly stirring.
  • Slowly pour in the milk, whisking continuously until smooth.
  • Turn down the heat and let simmer for 5 minutes without allowing any lumps to form.
  • Add the crabmeat, salt, and pepper, mix well, and remove from heat.
  • Allow mixture cool slightly before pouring onto a baking sheet lined with paper towels. Dust lightly with paprika.
  • Serve immediately.
