¼ cup butter 3 tbsp flour 5 cups milk 1 pound lump crabmeat salt and pepper paprika
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Once melted, whisk in the flour.
Cook for 3 minutes while constantly stirring.
Slowly pour in the milk, whisking continuously until smooth.
Turn down the heat and let simmer for 5 minutes without allowing any lumps to form.
Add the crabmeat, salt, and pepper, mix well, and remove from heat.
Allow mixture cool slightly before pouring onto a baking sheet lined with paper towels. Dust lightly with paprika.
