Veal cutlets are one of my favorite dishes to cook at home because they’re so easy and quick to prepare.

They can be served as an appetizer or main course depending on how much meat you want to serve.

However, there are different types of veal cutlets recipes available online so it might be difficult to choose which one to try first!

What Is The Best Veal Cutlet Recipe?

The best veal cutlet recipe I have tried is from The Kitchn.

This recipe calls for two pounds of ground beef (or any other protein) seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, and Italian seasoning.

You should also add 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour to this mix.

After mixing these ingredients together, form them into small patties about half an inch thick.

Then, place them between sheets of plastic wrap and pound each patty flat until they are approximately ¼ inch thick.

Next, coat both sides of each patty with egg wash — just whisk 1 whole egg with 2 tablespoons water, then dip each side of your cutlets in the egg wash.

Once the cutlets are coated, season them with sea salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes.

After coating the cutlets, lay them out on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or nonstick aluminum foil and bake them at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes per batch.

Once cooked through, flip over the cutlets and return them to the oven for another five minutes.

When the second set of 5 minutes has passed, remove the cutlets from the oven and allow them to rest for three minutes before serving.

If desired, drizzle some olive oil on top of each piece of cutlet.

The key difference between this recipe and the previous one is that it doesn’t contain any wheat flour.

Instead, it calls for flaxseed meal, tapioca starch, olive oil, and water.

To top things off, it has a crispy crust!

Soy-free Veal Cutlet Recipe

You won’t find any soy protein powder in this recipe either.

However, this does mean that this veal cutlet contains no added salt.

Be careful when seasoning it though – use only salt sparingly if possible.

Lactose-free Veal Cutlet Recipe

For those who don’t consume dairy, this lactose-free veal cutlet will work well for you.

Just omit the heavy cream from the recipe and replace it with coconut milk.

In addition, this recipe calls for brown rice flour in place of regular flour.

  • First, rinse the parsley, then finely cut it and set it aside.
